Bio

Josh Wareham is a Chicago-based violist, music producer, and educator.

As a violist, Josh has performed with a wide variety of groups and artists including the Boston Festival Orchestra, Rhode Island Philharmonic Orchestra, Cape Cod Chamber Orchestra, Lucerne Festival Alumni, Boston Modern Orchestra Project, Boston Philharmonic Orchestra, Boston Landmarks Orchestra, Albany Symphony, JACK Quartet, Philadelphia's SoundLAB ensemble, and Palaver Strings. 

His three solo albums "Chances" (2020), "Twice" (2021), and "Levels" (2023) feature original music that breaks down traditional genre boundaries in a unique viola-focused blend of hip-hop, rock, electronic, and classical. 

Josh is a former Digital Music Teaching Artist with the Boston Music Project, where he explored music production and digital music composition with students in Boston Public Schools. His work with the program's students ranged from albums of student-composed music to collaborations with local performing and visual artists.

Josh holds a Master of Music degree from the Eastman School of Music, and a Bachelor of Music degree from St. Olaf College.
